Therapeutic Yoga utilises the different yoga practices to present a functional approach. As a result, the practice will be tailored to individual needs and allow you to get the best out of your life.
There will be two yoga practices focused on: Hatha yoga and Yin yoga.
Hatha yoga: is the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises) which help develop strength, balance, stretch, mindfulness and relaxation techniques. In Hatha, the poses are practiced in a more static style rather than flow, which makes it a great start for beginners.
Yin yoga: is a practice of stillness that focuses on stretching your fascia. The practice places you in a pose for 2-10 minutes while you focus on your breath. Yin is the balance to Yang (energy and movement). Our lives are so busy these days; we need to practice more Yin.
Therapeutic Yoga classes will be run by Marissa, a trained Physiotherapist in Therapeutic Yoga.
It is a safe and gentle practice that can be done by all.
